Fanel formerly spent over 7 years within the Healthcare benefits field and took on trading stocks as a part time hobby. Like many people during the pandemic, I had to pivot career goals and have recently begun the process of transitioning into the IT industry. I have been married to my wonderful wife (Edyne) for over 11 years and I’m a father to three amazing children: Sarai (9), Ethan (7), and Amina (2). I pride myself on being a devoted and very present father to them. I often speak to and encourage many young men in the churches I’m involved in on what it takes to transition from being a single black man to a committed married one. I have a passion for sports, specifically basketball (former elementary grade coach) and enjoys gaming and shooting pool. As I will always remind you: "To know me is to love me."

Introducing James Lalanne, a seasoned 20-year Hospitality Professional with a track record of success as a results-driven General Manager. With experience overseeing five hotel properties across Florida and Georgia, I have consistently delivered excellence and earned multiple industry awards.

After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Physical Chemistry, I began my career in the hospitality industry, quickly rising through the ranks to become a respected leader in the field. In addition to my professional accomplishments, I am also an avid billiards player, enjoying the strategic and mental challenges of the game.

As a leader, I am highly regarded for my ability to build solid teams through decisive and supportive leadership, emphasizing open and consistent communication with team members. Outside of work, I make time to mentor kids through the KAPOW organization, making a positive impact in our community.

My name is Bruneley Lalanne and I am a native of South Florida. I am a Haitian American and I speak Creole fluently and have a working knowledge in Spanish. I am a trial attorney in the state of Florida. I have been practicing law since 2012.

I began my legal career working as an Assistant Public Defender in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Florida. I had the opportunity to litigate numerous types of felony cases including but not limited to 1st degree felonies to misdemeanors. Furthermore, due to my experience, I have mastered the ability to analyze statutes and case law; and draft legal memorandum that includes strong analytical and legal writing skills necessary to argue my client’s position.

Additionally, in my position, I had the opportunity to engage with clients from all different backgrounds including low-income clients. Being able to have these clients entrust me with their cases, is something I valued. With their trust, I was able to learn about them and help defend them in a way that most could not. For example, if my client suffered mental health issues, I would find a program that is financially and mentally beneficial for the client to attend. I would foster relationships with the program and the case manager to ensure my client’s needs are being met.

After many years with the Public Defender’s Office, I transitioned my skills to civil litigation. I gained experience in the area of general liability from a defense perspective. I prepared cases from pre-litigation to trial. My attention to detail has helped saved my clients millions.  My duties include but not limited to: negotiate settlements on behalf of insurers, draft release agreements; prepared motions and memorandums of law, draft responsive pleadings, and discovery requests; and developed and presented both written and oral arguments before the Court in cases presenting important and complex legal and factual questions under the law.

Although, I was working in the private sector, I continued my passion to give back to the community which included organizing and volunteering “Know Your Rights” forum in my local community churches and schools. I wanted to educate my community about their rights and what they should do if they have a police encounter.

I owned and operated Lalanne Law, PLLC and my areas of practice were personal injury, criminal law, family law, and probate. My mission was bridging the cultural gap between the legal system and ethnic community to decrease the likelihood of negative outcomes due to cultural barriers. I believe this passion is important to serve the community. Therefore, while owning and operating my own law firm, I continued my passion to give back by organizing forums with attorneys, the community and law enforcement officers.

Currently, I work at the Law Office of the Public Defender in Broward County, and I aid in creating change in an individual’s life. For me, that is one of the biggest rewards one can receive. I am able to provide hope and results to those who didn’t have any and I am forever grateful for this opportunity.
